Consensys GSR by Shimmer

Description
Consensys GSR by Shimmer is a wearable sensing solution designed for measuring skin conductance, also known as galvanic skin response (GSR) or electrodermal activity (EDA), in psychophysiological research. By detecting changes in skin conductivity associated with activation of the sympathetic nervous system, the system provides valuable insights into emotional arousal, stress, excitement and cognitive responses.
In addition to skin conductance, the device supports the simultaneous collection of photoplethysmography (PPG), heart rate and motion data from its integrated accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer and altimeter. Measurements can be streamed wirelessly via Bluetooth for real-time monitoring and visualisation or recorded locally to a microSD card for subsequent analysis.
Its wearable and configurable design makes Consensys GSR suitable for laboratory experiments as well as studies conducted in natural, everyday environments. Typical applications include stress and emotion research, cognitive and behavioural studies, usability testing and consumer or marketing research.
The development kits include the sensors and accessories required to begin collecting data and can support studies involving one or multiple participants.
This equipment was made possible through a donation from La Fondation pour la Formation Hôtelière (www.lafondation.org).
