The DOIT Centre’s events provide an open forum for exchanging knowledge, showcasing good practices and connecting people interested in innovation, digitalisation and the sustainable development of tourism. Through workshops, lectures, demonstrations and other formats, we bring together students, researchers, external partners and the wider public, creating opportunities for new collaborations, trials and projects.

Measuring and Benchmarking Innovation Potential in Tourism
As part of the TTRA Europe 2026 conference, on 15 May Centre DOIT hosted an interactive focus group of the VIPSLOT project, where international and Slovenian researchers and practitioners tested which indicators best capture the innovation potential of tourism, and how national tourism ecosystems can be benchmarked against leading international practice.
Measuring emotions in tourism experiences - A hands-on workshop for postgraduate students with Dr Ondrej Mitas (Breda University of Applied Sciences)
A hands-on workshop for postgraduate students in which Dr Ondrej Mitas introduced data collection and analysis using skin conductance devices. It was at this workshop that we first worked closely with the Shimmer equipment that is now part of the research inventory of Centre DOIT.
